We stan queer horror!
Writer and director João Dall’Stella is releasing a brand-new series of queer horror short films titled Hot Ways to Die. The rollout is leading up to Halloween and taking place on the director’s Instagram page (@joaodallstella).
Dall’Stella explained that the inspiration for this series of shorts was him thinking, “If I’m dying, I’d rather do it while having fun and looking good.”
“For years, I was afraid of being queer and coming out of the closet,” he added. “It took me a while to realize that living authentically means letting go of that fear. It’s similar to watching a scary movie – when you face your fear, there’s a sense of relief and excitement about what’s next.”
The complete Hot Ways to Die series includes seven short films: Through a Hole, Dropping the Towel, Smiling, In the Steam Room, During Climax, Getting Eaten Alive, and In the Shower. As of this writing, the first two installments of Hot Ways to Die have already been released – with five more to come!
