Ben Aldridge is certainly having a moment right now, as the third season of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler just dropped on HBO Max. Not only that, he also has the film Spoiler Alert on the way.

"When we first were cast, we were [scared the fans] would tear us apart. The good thing about this show, as it's an origin story, it's set in a world that pre-dates any of the comic books. It's been great to be part of the DC world," Aldridge tells PRIDE.

Pennyworth co-star Jack Bannon echoed Aldridge's remarks and showed his appreciation to bring unique stories to audiences.

"I didn't become an actor to play Alfred. We became actors to play lots of fantastic, different parts and tell different stories. I think it's brilliant that there's a real breadth of stories and people's experiences being brought to the big screen," Bannon tells PRIDE.

Speaking of stories on the big screen, Aldridge will be co-starring with Jim Parsons on the highly-anticipated LGBTQ rom-com Spoiler Alert.

"I am lucky to be riding a wave of progress. When I started out acting, I wouldn't have ever imagined that we'd get here, to be honest. Even 10 years ago, I would have never imagined that. I'm just really happy and relieved in a way that I can play things that I really understand connect to in that way," Aldridge says.

Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler is streaming now on HBO Max. Spoiler Alert comes out December 16th. For the full interview, check out the video below.
