Shedonism Tears Up the Las Vegas Strip This Weekend

Lady-loving ladies will heat up Las Vegas this weekend for an overdose of sin-filled fun at Shedonism, where “un-lady like behavior is encouraged.”

Lady-loving ladies will heat up Las Vegas this weekend for an overdose of sin-filled fun at Shedonism, where “un-lady like behavior is encouraged.”

Coinciding with Pride weekend, Shedonism is a four-day extravaganza of excess and indulgence in the form of dancing, pool parties and beautiful women, hosted at Las Vegas' newest boutique hotel, Rumor.

If you’re not in Vegas right now, you’ve probably already missed one of our favorite lady comedians Margaret Cho in Aces of Comedy as well as Lust, the first dance party of the weekend, but here’s what’s on the menu for the rest of Pride:

Friday, Sept. 7

PRIDE Parade and Dyke March: 7 pm to 9 pm - free; W. Charleston Blvd. and Fourth Street

The sparkling strip will be even more fabulous than usual when the official Las Vegas Pride Parade makes its outrageous way down the street. There’s also a free shuttle service to and from the hotel, so enjoy yourselves.

Sin: After-Parade Party: 8 pm to 4 am - $15 advance, $20 at the door; Drink and Drag, second floor of the Neonopolis, 450 Fremont St.

Once you’re done strutting down the Vegas catwalk, head right into the newest gay bar on the strip for the official women’s after-parade party. Indulge in the drag shows, a mini bowling alley, video games, private pool and karaoke lounge or just marry the night with DJ Lisa Pittman and the cast of The Real L Word.

Saturday, Sept. 8

Eden Pool Party: 11 am to 5 pm - $10 advance, $15 at the door; Rumor Boutique Resort Pool, 455 East Harmon Ave.

Soak up the sun and each other’s awesomeness at the first pool party of the weekend. Enjoy cocktails and cheeseburgers poolside, try out the slides, lunch at the outdoor cafe, do a little shopping or just get wet with the ladies.

Pride Festival: 12 pm to 10 pm - $10 adults, $10 youth, children 5 and under free; Clark County Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy.

Check out the Pride Festival for hundreds of vendor booths, performances on the main stage and 30,000 of the greatest people you'll ever meet.

Celesbian Texas Hold-em Charity Tournament: 7 pm to 10 pm (registration at 6 pm); Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ballroom, 4455 Paradise Road

Try out your poker face against celesbians Whitney Mixter, Dani Campbell, Julie Goldman, Hunter Valentine, God-des & She, Cori and Kacy, Lauren and Amanda. Play to win cash prizes and a Melissa Etheridge VIP experience. Reserve a seat by calling Alison at 954-288-8691.

Envy Party: 10 pm to 4 am - $15 advance, $25 at the door; Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road

After the poker tournament, head to the Pride party exclusively for the ladies, hosted by cast members of The Real L Word. Catch a live performance on the dance floor by Nina Sky, the twins who made it to the No. 5 spot on Billboard with “Move Ya Body.”

Sunday, Sept. 9

Vice Pool Party: 12 pm to 6 pm - $15; The pool at Rumor Resort, 455 East Harmon Ave.

There’ll be no cooling off at the second pool party of the weekend as lesbian band Hunter Valentine, from season three of The Real L Word, hits the stage. Stick around for go-go dancers, choreographed dance shows and the chance to win prizes.

Crazy Horse Paris: Sensual Burlesque Show: 8 pm and 10:30 pm - $35 and up; MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Crazy Horse Cabaret

Duck into the Crazy Horse Cabaret for a sensual night celebrating the artistry of nude women, enhanced with light, film and projections. Leave the kids at home for this one, and bring your business casual attire.

Salvation Closing Party: 10 pm to 3 am - $10 advance, $12 at the door; Diablo’s at the Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South

Dance it out at the closing party for one last chance to revel in the debauchery and make some good (or bad, if you know what we mean) Vegas stories happen if you somehow haven’t done so already.

Relax: Hard Rock Hotel Poolside - free with a Shedonism pass

If you had the good sense to take the day off on Monday, head to the pool for some old-fashioned relaxing. This isn’t an exclusive Shedonism event, so take it down a notch and let the raging hangover subside.

Buy tickets online for any of the events from the Shedonism Vegas website.
