SheWired Shot of The Day: Salma Hayek’s Real Appeal (and Curves!) on ‘Allure’ Cover

There is a moment in just about every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being nothing lesbian about it and often there being no redeeming value. “It’s like the uniform of a generation,” Hayek says of plastic surgery. “And it’s not necessarily beautiful. It’s not wrinkled-looking, but it’s not beautiful.”

There is a moment in just about every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being nothing lesbian about it and often there being no redeeming value. Well, we at SheWired have made an executive decision to just throw any of our pseudo-feminist caution to the wind and to just post our favorite shot of the day, whether it be sexy, salacious, or just because…

Salma Hayek is an actress, a producer, a wife, a mom, and, at 44, she shows no signs of scaling back her magnetic sex appeal. The latest Allure cover girl says she intends to continue to age gracefully, eschewing cosmetic surgery alternatives to ward off old age.

“It’s like the uniform of a generation,” Hayek says of plastic surgery. “And it’s not necessarily beautiful. It’s not wrinkled-looking, but it’s not beautiful.”

“I’ve never had anything done on my face,” she insists. “I’ve never had dermabrasion or peels or injections of any kind, nothing.”

In order to protect her face naturally and promote healthy anti-aging options, Hayek will launch her own skincare line “Nuance” available at CVS pharmacies.

“I’m [creating this line] with the philosophy that within you there is beauty, and you have to learn how to find it and enhance it in a natural way,” she tells the beauty mag. “One thing that is exciting about being a woman is that you can rediscover your beauty over and over and over.”

"As a woman, you should be more at ease with your sexuality when you are in your 40s," Hayek adds on the subject of aging. "You are more self-assured about that part. And that's the way it should be. If you are a girl who cannot walk in heels, it doesn't matter how beautiful you are," she says. "If you look like a chicken that's been spiked in the feet, it's not going to be sexy."

On what has changed about her body over the last 10 years Hayek says,"My boobs; they’re not bad, by the way. I’m not complaining about them."
