This six-minute music video is officially giving us all the feels. Simply titled Shelter, the collaboration between artists/DJs Porter Robinson and Madeon and popular anime studio A-1 Pictures is both an extraordinary blending of captivating visuals and entrancing music, but also a devastating punch to the heart and soul. If you're not interested in anime you might pass on the project by default, but I assure you that you're missing out, because Shelter isn't about anime or its culture. It's nothing more and nothing less than a testament to the art of storytelling.
The description of the video perfectly tells the story without giving too much away:
"Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation."
