In case you missed it, over the weekend, during his appearance as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live, Grammy-winning rapper Kid Cudi wore something that had the whole internet buzzing: a white, floral-print dress.

Designed by fashion mogul Virgil Abloh for his luxury label Off-White, Cudi rocked the instantly-iconic frock while performing his track "Sad People," and in a statement on Twitter, the 37-year-old said the style choice was an homage to the late, great Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

"Virgil designed the dress for me. I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt w a floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece," he wrote, sharing the story of the dress's creation with fans. "Thank You @virgilabloh ur a fuckin genius!! Love you man we did it!!!"

While Kid Cudi did face some backlash from close-minded viewers (because homophobia and misogyny still run rampant, unfortunately), the overwhelming response was positive, with many praising the "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper for sticking a middle finger to gender roles and toxic masculinity while also paying tribute to another music legend.

We have no choice but to stan!

Relive the moment and see Kid Cudi perform in a cute floral sundress in the video below!
