Girls and gays, let us introduce you to Congressman-Elect Kaiali‘i "Kai" Kahele who will be representing Hawaii's second congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives come January.
The 46-year-old husband, father, and proud Democrat will be replacing former presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (who notoriously had a long, complicated, and downright scary anti-LGBTQ+ history during her political career) in Congress, and in case you didn't notice, he's Daddy AF.
He's been endorsed by 44th President Barack Obama, the Human Rights Campaign, and has proudly and publicly declared his support of the LGBTQ+ community...
...so of course, the internet is taking notice of him (and celebrating his recent Election Day victory)!

“Hawaiʻi is sending a Native Hawaiian to Congress.

Kai Kahele, who replaces Tulsi Gabbard, is only the second Native Hawaiian in Congress since Hawaiʻi became a state. “Congratulations, @kaikahele, on your election to represent #HI02.

In your campaign, you won over voters with your vision of a more just and equitable America and a commitment to serving the people’s interests in the proud tradition of your father, the late State Sen. Gil Kahele.”— Nancy Pelosi (@Nancy Pelosi) 1604511102
