Carrie Prejean Dethroned! Fired from Miss California USA

Anti-gay marriage supporter Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was fired and dethroned for breach of contract, although the Miss USA pageant guru Donald Trump told her she could keep her job less than a month ago. First runner-up Tami Farrell will assume the role and responsibilities of Miss California USA.

Anti-gay marriage supporter Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was fired and dethroned for breach of contract, although the Miss USA pageant guru Donald Trump told her she could keep her job less than a month ago, Fox News reported.

"This was a business decision, based solely on contract violations," Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, the company that produces Miss California USA pageant, said in the documents. "After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together."

Prejean made headlines during the Miss USA pageant when celebrity blogger Perez Hilton asked about her stance on gay marriage. Not only did Prejean come out as a vehemently anti same-sex marriage supporter who believes in "opposite" marriage but also she teamed up with the National Organization for Marriage to promote an anti-gay marriage agenda.

The beauty queen faced further scrutiny when topless photos of her surfaced on the Web. During a press conference on May 12, Trump said she could keep her job if she sticks to her contract.

But now that K2 Productions, the company that produces the Miss California USA pageant, has cited breach of contract, Trump has given the okay to fire her.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in documents K2 released. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision."

First runner-up Tami Farrell will assume the role and responsibilities of Miss California USA.
