Chelsea Handler to Wave Pride Flag as Grand Marshall of LA Pride 2009

Late night talk show hostess and diva Chelsea Handler will be waving her pride flag from the back of a limo now that she's been tapped to act as Grand Marshall for the 2009 Los Angeles LGBT Pride Celebration, Christopher Street West announced in a release. Her sidekick Chuy Bravo will co-Marshal the parade with her.

Christopher Street West called on Handler, star of E's highest-rated show Chelsea Lately, to helm the parade due to her "visible and vocal support of equality," the release stated.

The grassroots organization OUT West -- Organizations United Together West -- was named the Community Grand Marshal in recognition of its ability to unite and support the community at the grassroots level, according to the release.

Los Angeles Pride runs June 13 and 14 in West Hollywood.
