Sex and the City Star Cynthia Nixon announced last night her engagement to long time girlfriend Christine Marinoni while campaigning for gay rights at the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally in New York City, according to Access Hollywood.
Nixon, best known for her Sex and The City role as Miranda, revealed her engagement ring to the crowd at the gay-marriage rally in midtown where she was joined by her Sex costar Kristin Davis, David Hyde Pierce, Audra McDonald and New York Governor David Paterson. The event was organized by the theater community in support of New York Governor David Paterson's bill granting legal equality to same-sex unions.
Nixon began dating Marinoni in 2003 shortly after Cynthia split from long-term partner Danny Mozes, with whom she has 2 children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 8.
According to the source, the couple became engaged last month.
