Eve Kosofosky Sedgwick, author of Epistemology of the Closet, died on April 12th.
Segdwick’s groundbreaking work in establishing queer theory included additional titles: Novel Gazing: Queer Readings in Fiction and Touching, Feeling: Affect, Pedagogy, Performativity."
She also left a lasting legacy at the Duke University Press who remembered Sedgwick as "more than just a Duke author,” she helped, “define the Press as we went through major editorial changes in the 1990s. Sedgwick co-founded the influential Series Q, further defining the, “discipline of queer theory. Under her guidance, Duke Press has become a leader in that field; Series Q now includes 42 books."
