Top 100 Most-Searched Women On The Web

AOL's site for men, Asylum.com, covers humor, sex, and weird news stories often with a lot of sarcasm.  The content is funny in the same way as Perez Hilton is, dripping with misogyny that passes for sarcasm and a distinct lack of intellect.

Asylum recently posted a list of the most searched women on the Internet, rather than merely posting another editorialized, opinion-driven list of attractive stars.  Fair enough. The results were based on searches done on AOL's Search Engine within the past year. The boys’ club at Asylum was kind enough to weed out the ladies "who are clearly not being checked up on for their physical appeal and charming nature." Although, they should have included a list without the omissions to show just what kind of women people around the world are searching for online, and exactly what percentage of searches for women are for informative purposes compared to those just wanting to stare at beautiful women. 

That said, a few of the people on the list are quite surprising, rather, their position on the list is most shocking, especially if so-called “unattractive” women were filtered out. Here  is a digest of some of our favorite ladies who made the list, and just where they landed in the ranking.

100. Ashley Judd

"Earlier this year, Judd got into a tiff with celebrity governor Sarah Palin over aerial hunting in Alaska. Now that's a 40-and-over (wolf) fight we wouldn't mind seeing." (Asylum)

98. Marilyn Monroe

Despite being dead for 47 years, her beauty has proven to be eternal.

96. Danica Patrick

Race car driving Danica Patrick will be on this list until she stops doing photoshoots sitting on cars while wearing just a bikini.

90. Hayden Panettiere

Asylum said "The dolphin-saving cheerleader has yet to fulfill her promise as a Lohan-like child-star-turned-tabloid-train-wreck. And her liver thanks her for that." Having a lesbian scene in Heroes, and enjoying it, definitely had people searching.

85. Anne Hathaway

Issues with her boyfriend turned her into a single woman, and that is exciting. Plus, her Academy Award nomination and stellar singing voice don't hurt her appeal.

78. Drew Barrymore

This year, Drew directed her first movie Whip It, about girls in the roller derby, and made out with Ellen Page for a story in Marie Claire. All that, and a huge supporter of LGBT equality.
