Tim Kaine Officiated a Same-Sex Wedding on Trump's Inauguration Night

Proof that he would have made an awesome Vice President.
While most of the country was still coping with the slow-burning, unattended dumpster fire that was Donald Trump's presidential inauguration last Friday, Virgina senator and last year's Vice Presidential hopeful Tim Kaine was busy officiating a wedding between two queer women. And from the looks of his Twitter account, it was the sweetest thing ever.
\u201cHitched! Congrats to Dea and Sharon. Was honored to officiate their wedding tonight\u201d— Tim Kaine (@Tim Kaine) 1484971624
As Roll Call reports, the marriage was between the couple of Dea Jones and Sharon McLeod who first met in 2000, but had yet to make their union legal. It was also the first same-sex marriage Kaine, who is a family friend of Jones' and a passionate LGBT ally, had ever officiated.
Considering the notorious, anti-LGBT record of our new and current VP Mike Pence, we're glad Tim is making every effort he can to ensure queer people are afforded the same rights as everyone else. (We just really wish he and Hillary were the ones in office.)
