Baylor's Brittney Griner, NBA Draft Pick?

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says he might be interested in

Baylor University senior Brittney Griner is good. No -- amazing. In fact she's statistically better than pretty much any other women in college hoops right now, and she is the first female basketball player to dunk on a regular basis.

At 6'8", Griner is a three-time All-American and Big 12 player of the year.  In her college career, she's scored 3,283 points (second most in NCAA Division I history), blocked 748 shots (more than anyone, male or female), and made 18 dunks, 11 of which were during her senior year.

AND she looks amazing in a suit. Seriously.

Because of that, Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban made a provocative statement about her being possibly drafted by his (all-male NBA) team this June, according to ESPN.

"If she is the best on the board, I will take her," in the second round of the draft, Cuban said. "I've thought about it. I've thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I'd lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance."

Looking at her prospects for next year, sure Griner could head to the WNBA, where she will undoubtedly be a star rookie and have an excellent career. That's noteworthy in itself. But Griner is read to blaze a trail instead.

"I would hold my own! Let's do it," she tweeted Tuesday evening.

Cuban said she would still have to try out and make the cut like everyone else. "I'm not going to carry her just to carry her," he said. "I don't think, anyways. But I certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving her the opportunity."
