Aaron, Squash, Brown University
In 2003, photographer Jeff Sheng set out on a mission to capture lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender athletes in high school and college. After he photographed more than 200 courageous young people, his collection, known as the Fearless Project, hit the road.
In the past 12 years, Sheng has exhibited the photographs in more than 70 venues, and this year he published a photography book titled Fearless: Portraits of LGBT Student Athletes. Sheng continues to photograph young queer athletes, so when you buy the book, you support upcoming Fearless Project photo shoots and LGBT visibility in sports.
