Are you ready for more Fletcher??

The singer, who got her start on The X Factor but has risen to queer fame over the last decade, recently announced her upcoming debut album, Girl of My Dreams. She also dropped a new single to get fans hyped up.

“I have been waiting my whole entire life for this moment,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday. “It is the culmination of every experience and lover and moment in between. I have never been so proud, excited and ready for something to be out in the world.”

Although Girl of My Dreams will be Fletcher’s first full-length studio album, she has been releasing music consistently since 2015, including 2020’s The S(ex) Tapes and her breakout single “Undrunk.”

Her music up to this point has largely focused on heartbreak, but she teases this new album going a slightly different direction.

“For my debut album it felt right to do a deeper dive into self-exploration, and all the different facets that make up who I am,” she said. “I wanted it to be the most honest, raw, and complete representation of the complex and sensitive-ass Pisces that I’ve always been. It took a long time and a lot of reflection to create a body of work like that, but it’s important to me that my music comes directly from lived experience.”

The first single, “Her Body is Bible,” already feels like it’s living up to that honesty while maintaining the recognizable sound Fletcher has crafted over the years.

Girl of My Dreams comes out on September 16.
