Let the casting begin already!

Here’s the Greta Garbo/Marlene Dietrich small screen drama we never knew we needed! Out golden girl producer of the year Megan Ellison’s (American Hustle, Her) Annapurna Pictures has teamed with The L Word luminaries Angela Robinson (D.E.B.S.) and Alex Kondracke (Hung) for a scripted drama about sexually fluid Hollywood royalty Garbo and Dietrich, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

For its first foray into television Annapurna will investigate what THR refers to as the “intersecting” lives of Garbo and Dietrich and their friendships and dalliances with the likes of Mercedes de Acosta, Tallulah Bankhead, Alla Nazimova, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant and John Wayne, and more…

"We’re so excited this project found a home at Annapurna," out director Robinson and Kondracke said in a statement. "We couldn’t imagine a better partner than Megan Ellison and the folks at Annapurna to help us bring this series to life."

There’s no word yet as to who will play actresses behind early gender-bending films like Dietrich’s Morocco and Garbo’s Queen Christina, but we’re already thinking about casting in our heads.

More to come as this project develops. Bring on the gorgeous women in impeccably tailored suits!
