Cynthia Nixon used Friday's Trans Day of Action to announce how proud she is of her transgender son, Samuel, who recently graduated from the University of Chicago.

Samuel (or Seph, as Nixon calls him), 21, is the oldest son of Nixon and her ex-husband Danny Mozes; they have another son, 15-year-old Charles. Nixon is now married to Christine Marinoni and they are mothers to 7-year-old Max.
Nixon, a Tony- and Emmy-winning actress, is now running for governor of New York. The Democrat will face off against current governor Andrew Cuomo, who's seeking a third term.
