Not everyone has the chance to come out of the closet with the help of their younger self, but Aubrey Anderson-Emmons saw a hilarious opportunity and snatched it right up.
The actress-turned-singer, who played Lily Tucker-Pritchett on Modern Family for 11 seasons, came out as bisexual via TikTok on Sunday night. And she did so with the help of an iconic scene from the series.
In season 4, episode 19 ("The Future Dunphys"), Gloria (Sofia Vergara) sets out to help Lily get in touch with her Vietnamese heritage. Lily, however, is a little too young to grasp the concept, and seems to believe that because her adoptive dads are gay, that's what describes her as well.
"You are Vietnamese," Gloria says.
"No, I'm not," Lily protests. "I'm gay! I'm gay!"
"Honey, no, you're not gay," Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) tells his daughter. "You're just confused. Oh my god, what is wrong with me?"

Anderson-Emmons played the audio from the scene over a TikTok she posted to her account, lip syncing along to the dialogue she recorded over a decade ago.
To make her point perfectly clear, she added a text overlay to the video.
"people keep joking so much abt me being gay when I literally am," she wrote, adding in parentheses, "I'm bi."
@aubreyandersonemmons hehe happy pride month and to all a good night🤭 #modernfamily #lily #pridemonth #pride #fyp #bi
