Did your faves get nominated?

The nominees for the 72nd annual Emmy Awards were just announced this morning, and after a record season for LGBTQ+ inclusion in television, many of the key categories included at least one or two queer (and adjacent) nominations! Considering how abysmal queer rep in mainstream media used to be in decades past, we couldn't be happier to be TV fans now!!

RuPaul's Drag Race got nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition, while multihyphenate queen Zendaya got her first nom ever for Lead Actress in a Drama Series after slaying the part of Rue in HBO's queer inclusive teen drama Euphoria. Defending Lead Actor in a Drama Series winner Billy Porter got nominated again for playing Pray Tell in FX's Pose, while out actor Jeremy Pope got a Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie nom for playing the role of gay screenwriter Archie in another Ryan Murphy series, Netflix's Hollywood. And Schitt's Creek was (rightfully) one of this year's most buzzed-about shows, earning nominations for so many categories, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Eugene Levy), Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Catherine O’Hara), Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Dan Levy), and Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Annie Murphy).

Other notable LGBTQ+ faves that got shown some love include Queer Eye (the Fab Five got nominated for hosting a reality series), Killing Eve, Watchmen, Little Fires Everywhere, and so much more!
