Tegan and Sara fans are “closer” than ever to watching their story on TV!

On Friday, August 12, Amazon Freevee dropped the first teaser of High School, the upcoming live-action adaptation of Tegan and Sara’s best-selling memoir of the same name. The new series will have eight episodes and has Clea DuVall serving as a co-showrunner, director, co-writer, and executive producer.

On the show, TikTokers Railey and Seazynn Gilliland will make their TV debut playing Tegan and Sara, respectively. Meanwhile, Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer will be playing Simone Bates and Patrick Twiley, a.k.a. Tegan and Sara’s parents.

You can watch the first teaser of Amazon Freevee’s High School below.

Given that High School is based on Tegan and Sara’s memoir, fans can expect a lot of the characters mentioned in the book to appear on the show as well. As a result, the cast of High School will feature actors Esther McGregor (Natalie), Brianne Tju (Ali), Amanda Fix (Maya), Nate Corddry (David), Olivia Rouyre (Phoebe), Geena Meszaros (Lily), and CJ Valleroy (Evan).

If you’re not familiar with Amazon Freevee, it is Amazon’s free streaming service supported by ads. As such, it won’t cost a thing for fans to watch High School – as long as they are okay with watching a few commercial breaks.

From the looks of it, viewers will be screaming “everything is AWESOME!!!” once High School finally comes out later this year.

High School premieres October 14 on Amazon Freevee.
