Tyler Oakley Perfectly Sums Up What We're All Thinking After Orlando
"Parents shouldn't have to call their kids to make sure they're alive."
YouTube star, author, and out gay web personality Tyler Oakley took to the Internet yesterday to share his feelings on the recent gun violence in Orlando.
And boy does he nail it.
During his nearly 10 minute video, Oakley touches on the beauty of the LGBTQ+ community, the frustrations with do-nothing politicians, the concerns with blood bans, and the pain of the victims' families and loved ones. It's an emotional — and sometimes tearful — 10 minutes, but it perfectly captures the feelings and frustrations and emotions many of us have had the last several days.
"You are magical. I love you. I think you're valid, you're great," Oakley assures his viewers. "Your experience is worth living. I don't want you to see this and think you live in a world where you can't be yourself."
