Tank Girl Lori Petty Headed to Orange Is the New Black

Tank Girl herself, Lori Petty, was cast in season two of the Netflix smash Orange is the New Black (OITNB), according to TV Line.

Details of the character have not been released. 

Since Petty’s break out role of surfer chick Tyler in Point Break, she’s starred in fan favorites including A League of their Own (pitcher Kit Keller) and Tank Girl.  Petty has also frequented the TV and voice over scene as Daddy in the Prison Break TV movie, House, and theBatman Animated Series. 

She is also known for more independent film fare like Relax…It’s Just Sex, where she played out lesbian Robin Moon.  

In 2008, Petty made her directorial debut in The Poker House (also written by Petty), a semi-autobiographical drama about a teenage girl, Agnes, who’s struggling to raise her two younger sisters against all odds, in a house filled with addiction and abuse.  It was the feature film debut of up and coming actress, Jennifer Lawrence, who played the older sibling, Agnes.  Lawrence later went on to win Best Performance in the Narrative Competition at the 14^th annual Los Angeles Film Festival.  The film also starred Selma Blair and child actor Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie).
