The Hunger Games saga will be coming to a close next month, but it looks like it's going out with a bang. And while we'll all be at the edge of our seats come November 20th as Katniss races to defeat the Capitol, we also want to take a moment to be totally aware of just how awesome (and unfortunately unique) it is that this series is so focused on female characters and stories. In this new, final trailer alone we get glimpses of several different female characters, many of whom are warriors on the front lines of this series' epic final battle. Check it out right here:
Now, let's take a more in-depth look at some of the female warriors of Panem.
Of course, we've got Jennifer Lawrence killing it as Katniss:
Jena Malone as Johanna:
Willow Shields as Prim:
Elizabeth Banks as Effie:
Natalie Dormer as Cressida (also featuring whoever the hell that is):
Patina Miller as Commander Paylor:
And Gwendoline Christie as Commander Lyme:
And there you have it. Even better, this probably isn't even all of the prominently featured women helping make the Hunger Games one of our favorite sagas around. This is the final trailer for the film, so now we just have to wait it out to find out how this epic story will conclude (or, you know, anticipate all the emotional stuff us book-readers know is on its way). Happy 76th Hunger Games!
