In awesome (fictional) couple news, Alicia Silverstone and Anne Heche will be playing lovers in the upcoming dark comedy Catfight, written and directed by Onur Turkel and produced by MPI Media Group's Greg Newman. Sandra Oh will also star. According to Variety.com, Catfight follows "two bitter rivals who had been close in college. Oh plays a wealthy housewife and Heche portrays a struggling artist at a time when a U.S. president is hell-bent on starting a new war in the Middle East. When the women find themselves attending the same glitzy birthday party, verbal barbs lead to fisticuffs and an all-out brawl. Silverstone portrays the love interest of Heche’s character."
That's a lot of story right there, but Orun's got nothing but glowing words to say about his film, calling the performances mind-blowing, the fight scenes "insanely intense" and insisting that while it's "very funny," it's also "tragically dark." And really, what's more intriguing than an intense, tragic comedy? We can't wait to see what Alicia, Anne, and Sandra have in store for us in Catfight.
