Much ado has been made about Glee’s “The First Time” episode in which two of McKinley High’s most beloved couples lose their virginity to each other. The school’s resident lesbian takes on the role made famous by the likes of Chita Rivera on Broadway and Rita Moreno in the big screen version, and kills on “A Boy Like That” with Rachel (Lea Michelle) singing Maria’s part and on the ensemble number “America.”

Much ado has been made about Glee’s “The First Time” episode, airing Nov. 8, in which two of McKinley High’s most beloved couples lose their virginity to each other.

While Kurt and Blaine and Rachel and Finn are busy getting busy this week, they are also starring in the school’s long-anticipated production of West Side Story, and several of the musical numbers are available for an aural spin on YouTube, including Santana (Naya Rivera) channeling a terrific Anita.

While the episode will likely focus on the couples losing their respective “V cards” and not so much on the newly burgeoning relationship that is Brittana, there promises to be plenty to admire in Santana’s performance as Anita.

Still, here’s hoping the Troubletones take on an all-girl production of The Lion King in which Santana and Brittany (Heather Morris) get to croon “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” to each other while tumbling around the savannah.

Listen to Santana and Rachel on “A Boy Like That” here.

Here’s Santana taking the lead on “America.”
