'Upstairs Downstairs' Emilia Fox Dishes About Playing Lesbian with Costar Alex Kingston

British actress Emilia Fox, who is currently starring as Lady Portia Alresford, a closeted lesbian in the hit BBC show Upstairs Downstairs,opened up recently about her steamy love scenes with co-star Alex Kingston (ER),

British actress Emilia Fox, who is currently starring as Lady Portia Alresford, a closeted lesbian in the hit BBC show Upstairs Downstairs,opened up recently about her steamy love scenes with co-star Alex Kingston (ER), according to the UK Press Association.  

In an interview with Closer Magazine, the actress said "Alex and I make a great pair of lovers!"  She went on to admit that "It was wonderful - we just went for it.  We weren't nervous, because we just decided to have fun with it and it's good to be asked to do something you've never done before."

The sapphic love fest will be revealed during new episodes that are slated to run next month.

Upstairs Downstairs is set in 1930s London, and revolves around Sir Hallam Holland, his young wife Lady Agnes and the inner workings of their family and household staff at 165 Eaton Place.  The BBC gem is currently in the middle of a six episode run on PBS, check it out! 

Fox was most recently seen in the BBC series Merlin, available on DVD.
