SheWired recently posted video of a terrific flash mob organized to show support for Ellen DeGeneres and her partnership with JCPenney. Ellen and her show got wind of the flash mob and ran part of the video on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday.
Ellen discussed how much she loves the idea of the flash mob set to the sound bite that came straight from the daytime diva herself, “My haters are my motivators!”
After airing the clip of the dancers Ellen said, "Whovever organized that, I want to meet you!"
Here’s a little background on the flash mob that SheWired posted the other day:
In light of the recent controversy surrounding JCPenney choosing openly gay Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson, the Los Angeles dance community, family, and friends gathered together to show their love and support by countering hate with dance by performing in front of a JCPenney store. With dance as one of the hallmarks of The Ellen Show, what better way to "Show the LOVE, and Stop the Hate" than doing what Ellen loves most: DANCE!
This flash mob was produced Laura Buono and choreographed by Buono and Benjamin Allen, Founder and CEO of GROOV3. The mission of GROOV3 is to inspire change and build communities through the power of dance. Targeting non-professionals, G3 has an emphasis on boosting confidence, weight loss, and an overall sense of well-being.
