The leading ladies of Glee, including faves Naya Rivera and Heather Morris, are set to return for the show’s fourth season – and so is the rest of the cast.
The Hollywood Reporter recently confirmed that all 15 regulars on Glee will be returning for the next season of the hit Fox show, though it’s unclear in how many episodes each actor will appear.
THR confirmed that Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn) and Chris Colfer (Kurt), all recent high school graduates on the show, would return as season regulars after their dramatic sendoff in last season’s finale. Onscreen same-sex couple Rivera (Santana) and Morris (Brittany) will also be back, as will leading lesbian Jane Lynch (Sue). It remains to be seen what characters will appear as “series regulars” and who will merely be considered “recurring” characters.
"We're literally just writing the first script now," Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told THR in June. "We're figuring out who's doing what, who's coming back. We haven't figured it out, but I know what the stories are; I just don't know how many episodes. We want to keep all our options open. I think I have to talk to the actors and say, 'What do you want to do?' That's how we've been dealing with it.”
Murphy’s approach leaves room for Glee stars to pursue other projects. Darren Criss (Blaine) took time off from the show briefly to star in Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, while Amber Riley (Mercedes) is exploring a career in music. Glee’s fourth season will premiere in September.
