Maia Sharp, a lesbian singer-songwriter, has released an official music video to her song "Me After You," originally written by fellow lesbian songstress AG.The multitalented musician, who plays piano, tenor saxophone, and guitar, said that she's had the good fortune to be open about her sexuality, without any substantial backlash. Sharp came out when she was 23, and says it didn't really feel like a big deal.

"I almost feel bad that I didn't have a harder time, because a lot of people do," Sharp told The Advocate. "I wasn't this hugely famous person when I came out. So, by the time people got to know who I was, it had already been out there for years."

In her new video, Sharp harkens back to the days of silent films, when a musician would provide live accompaniment to supplant the movie's soundtrack.

"I know I hold the smoking gun, but clearly anyone would rather be you after me, than me after you," Sharp achingly croons. Watch the video below.
