Jane Lynch and Wife Lara Embry to Divorce

Jane Lynch and her wife, Dr. Lara Embry, are getting a divorce, People reports.

The Glee star, 52, and Embry, 44, met at a 2009 fundraiser in San Francisco and were married in 2010 in Sunderland, Mass., one of the three states at the time where same-sex marriages were recognized at the time. Embry's daughter, Haden, was described as "my greatest pleasure," by Lynch at a New York City event last March.

"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage," Lynch said in a statement. "This has been a very difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."

The much sought-after Lynch is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Annie and performed her big number “Little Girls” at Sunday’s Tony Award ceremony in New York.
