Amber Tamblyn IS Charlie's Lesbian Daughter on 'Two and a Half Men'

The powers that be at CBS’ Two and a Half Men have cast the actress who’ll play Charlie’s lesbian daughter, and the casting couldn’t be more perfect. Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia, House, Inside Amy Schumer) has been cast as Jenny, the daughter Charlie (played by Charlie Sheen until the character exited the show) never knew he had, Showrunner Chuck Lorre said at the Television Critics Association, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

With Angus T. Jones’ character (the half in the two and a half men) reduced to a recurring role, producers discussed why it was time to add a woman to the mix.

"I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective," Lorre  told THR. "The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."

Tamblyn will appear in at least five episodes with an option to eventually become a series regular, reports THR.

The actress, who also appeared in 127 Hours and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films, has said that she considers herself part of the queer community, AfterEllen noted.

“I am straight, I’m just queer,” Amber said at TCA in 2011. “That means that I believe in queer lifestyle. I engage in queer lifestyle. I am part of the queer community. For the most part I’m straight, but I’m not gay and I don’t think I’m bi either. I’m queer and that just means that I am a part of the community.”

Congrats to CBS for such great casting on this one. It looks like we’ll have to start watching.
