Emily Saliers is officially off-the-market, ladies. The Indigo Girl revealed that she married her longtime partner, Tristin Chipman, in New York last week. Saliers told the crowd in Vancouver at the Girls' first stop on their first-ever Canadian tour, just before performing "I'll Change" on stage at the Vogue Theater on Saturday.

"I got married!" exclaimed Saliers on stage. "My partner — my wife — is Canadian... We got married in New York, because — God. We would have gotten married in Canada if it would have counted in the U.S... We got married in New York so that we could get her a green card so that we can be free! We waited such a long time."

A fan in the crowd shouted "Canadian girls are awesome!" To which Saliers responded, "They tend to be — all of them."

Watch the touching moment below, and enjoy the live performance of "I'll Change" as a sort of bonus.

Congratulations to the newlyweds, and their adorable nine-month-old daughter, whose moms will now have all the legal rights afforded to any loving, married couple.
