The Advocate, Cruz, Jones and Hendricks Top Best Magazine Covers

The Advocate, SheWired’s sibling publication, has been nominated in the News & Business and Most Controversial categories in the American Society of Magazine Editors 2010 Best Cover Contest. Penelope Cruz, January Jones and Christina Hendricks mag covers are vying for the title of ‘Sexiest’ magazine cover. Penelope’s va-va-voom Vanity Fair Cover, Christina’s corselet-clad Viking queen with her gorgeous rope of ginger hair on New York Mag and January’s all cleave GQ cover are up against Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue, Ryan Reynolds in snorkeling gear on Entertainment Weekly and Kate Hudson channeling her mom Goldie Hawn circa her Laugh-In days.

The Advocate, SheWired’s sibling publication, has been nominated in the News & Business and Most Controversial categories in the American Society of Magazine Editors 2010 Best Cover Contest.

In the News & Business category, The Advocate’s “Gays to the DNC: Kiss My Ass” cover will go up against covers from The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, Fortune, The New Yorker, and Time.

In the Most Controversial category, The Advocate’s Obama cover will compete with covers from GQ, Los Angeles, New York, The New Yorker, and Vanity Fair.

While we applaud our colleagues for their great work, here is where the competition gets really juicy!
