 'Anyone But Me' Nabs Four Indie Soap Awards!

Lesbian web series Anyone But Mewon 4 titles at the 1st annual Indie Soap Awards. ABM took the win in Best Writing (Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward), Best Storyline (Vivian adjusts to her new life), Best Lead Actress (Rachael Hip-Flores), and Best Supporting Actor (Joshua Holland).

Lesbian web series Anyone But Me won four titles at the 1st annual Indie Soap Awards. The Indie Soap Awards are sponsored by We Love Soaps and the nominees were selected from a first round of judging from a panel of entertainment critics that cover the industry. A total of 16 indie soap operas received nominations for this year's awards. 

Buppies received 13 nominations to lead all web series, Compulsions received 11 nominations, and Anyone But Me and Diary of a Single Mom each received 10.

We Love Soaps is an online soap opera magazine aiming to preserve the history of soap opera and fostering the growth of new productions. The 1st Annual Indie Soap Awards were developed to honor the efforts of creative forces in independent web series production, specifically those who produce continuing drama series.

Anyone But Me won four of its ten nominations. Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward took the win in Best Writing. They were up against Julian Breece (Buppies), Bernie Su (Compulsions), Cheryl L. West (Diary of a Single Mom), Greg Turner and Brian Hewson (Empire), Charles Van Eman and Mike Stiles (High Rise), and Jennifer Thym (Lumina).

The show also won Best Storyline (Vivian adjusts to her new life). Competition in this category included Anacostia's Stephenson family drama, Buppies' Eliot's love triangle, Confessions' Tameka's drug problem, Lumina's mystery of Lumina.

Rachael Hip-Flores took the title of Best Lead Actress for her role as Vivian. She was up against Tatyana Ali (Quinci, Buppies), Janna Bossier (Justine, Compulsions), Monica Calhoun (Ocean, Diary of a Single Mom), Kai Soremekun (Lisa, Chick), and Erin Wiley (Morgan, The New Twenties).

Joshua Holland nabbed the Best Supporting Actor title for playing Anyone But Me's Archibald. Also nominated for the title were Ernest Waddell (Shaka, Buppies), Seth Caskey (Adam, Compulsions), Richard Roundtree (Lou, Diary of a Single Mom), and Ray Campell (Khalid, The New Twenties).

In addition to the wins, Anyone But Me was nominated for Best Indie Soap, Best Directing (Tina Cesa Ward), Best Editing (Tina Cesa Ward), Best Ensemble, Best Supporting Actress (Nicole Pacent), Breakthrough Performance (Jessy Hodges as Sophie), and Fan's Choice Award.
