Gay Icon Kristin Chenoweth Gets her 'Glee' On!

Last month, gay icon Kristin Chenoweth won a best supporting actress Emmy for her turn on the show as baker extraordinaire Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies, and this month, she's hot off a guest-starring role on Fox's freshman hit Glee. Now, news that she will reprise her role on Glee as April Rhodes, the boozed-up babe with a voice to die for.

Despite the cancellation of her critically acclaimed but viewer-deprived drama Pushing Daisies, things are going well for Kristin Chenoweth.

Last month, she won a best supporting actress Emmy for her turn on the show as baker extraordinaire Olive Snook on Daisies, and this month, she's hot off a guest-starring role on Fox's freshman hit Glee. Now comes news, according to Entertainment Weekly, that she'll be reprising her role as McKinley High alumni April Rhodes, the boozed-up babe with a voice to die for.

The singer-actress, who played Galinda the Good Witch in the Broadway performance of Wicked, also is returning to the Main Stem opposite Will & Grace's Sean Hayes in Promises, Promises. The play, based on Billy Wilder's 1960 film The Apartment, opens April 25 at the Broadway Theater in New York.

Chenoweth, who performed Heart's "Alone" as well as "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret, is set to return to the high school musical dramadey sometime next year for at least one episode.

Considering the way she left the show - Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) felt she was a bad influence on the glee club - there's no telling how she could return.

One way, of course, could have her participating with a rival school's glee club as Finn (Cory Monteith), Rachel (Lea Michele) and company make their way to regionals.

Or perhaps once Mr. S finds out that his wife really isn't pregnant and is plotting to pass Quinn's (Dianna Agron) baby off as her own, and now that it appears Emma (Jayma Mays) is getting hitched, maybe he'll seek the love of his old high school crush. Her performance of "Alone" with Will was incredible and it'd be a treat to see them share the stage again.

Chenoweth's incredible range - paired Rachel and Mercedes (Amber Riley), the club's reigning divas, could really make for an insane amount of talent in one performance. Will series creator Ryan Murphy treat us to a girl's night?

One thing is sure though: Chenoweth's presence - and incredible voice - is a welcome addition to primetime.
