Glee star Jane Lynch and her wife Lara Embry walked the red carpet at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner Saturday night. And when asked about the President’s stance on same-sex marriage she said she believes President Obama supports her decision to marry her partner, according to ABC News.

Without missing a beat Lynch replied, “People in politics say what they think they have to say. But I think Barack Obama is a good person and likes the fact that she and I are married.”

“Yeah,” Embry agreed, “He seems like a smart man, we are going to give him that credit.”

Last June, Jane Lynch married her partner Embry in Massachusetts, the first state to legalize gay marriage, and they both said they were looking forward to meeting the President and the First Lady at the dinner.

Other Glee stars seen in attendance were Matthew Morrison and Chris Colfer.
