Lady Antebellum was the big winner at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards.  The group went home with five awards, including Best Vocal Group, Single of the Year and Song of the Year for Need You Now.

The chart topper spent five weeks on the Billboard Country charts.

Carrie Underwood made history when she won the award for Entertainer of the Year.  The former American Idol became the first woman to win the award two years in a row. She had to beat out some pretty impressive talent to do so, Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney were also nominated in the category.

Miranda Lambert, the former Nashville Star, took home three awards, winning for Top Female Vocalist, Video or the Year and Album of the Year.

The biggest surprise of the evening was that Taylor Swift went home empty handed.  The Grammy winner was nominated and lost in five categories.

According the Entertainment Weekly, the CMAs won its timeslot in viewers (13.05 million) but was this season’s first awards show to actually post declines.  It was down 12 percent in viewers and down 16 percent in adults 18-49.
