Original Idol Kelly Clarkson will be joining Sarah McLachlan, The Bangles, The Go-Gos, Ke$ha, Erykah Badu, Martina McBride, Mary J. Blige and many more this summer for the 4th installment of the Lilith Fair, it was announced Thursday.
In anticipation of a possible Clarkson/McLachlan duet, or a battle of the bands between The Bangles and The Go-Gos, many adoring fans will be fighting to be first in line.
Clarkson was the inaugural winner of the famed Fox franchise, American Idol and she has since has gone on to record a number of mega hits including; "Since U Been Gone," "Miss Independent," "Breakaway," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You" and "My Life Would Suck Without You."
The multiple Grammy and Billboard Award winner will take a break from her worldwide solo tour in order to take part in the star studded celebration-a celebration that began in 1997 as a way to feature the many talented and lovely ladies of music.
The female-focused music festival, founded by McLachlan, along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride initially toured from 1997-1999. In its three years on the road they raised an impressive $10 million for various women's charities. They also finished among the top 20 tours that year (16th), grossing over $16 million.
The 2010 tour has generated a lot of buzz since McBride announced in October 2009 that the Fair would be returning to concert circuit.
Official tour dates have not been announced, but confirmed stops will include; Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Montreal, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington, D.C.
