The unflinching documentary about Hole dummer Patty Schemel, Hit So Hard, will premiere at the Outfest Film Festival on Thursday, July 14th. All-star live performances featuring Schemel and several additional legendary rockers will follow the screening.
Performers in attendance include Linda Perry, Ann Magnuson, Mary Woronov, Sia, Eric Erlandson (Hole), Nina Gordon (Veruca Salt), Kate Schellenbach (Luscious Jackson), Roddy Bottum (Faith No More), Clint Walsh (Gnarls Barkley), Jorgee Douglas (Citizens Band, Stone Fox), Stacy Sher, Kerry Brown (Smashing Pumpkins), Jeff and Steve McDonald (Redd Cross), Anna Waronker (That Dog), Nicole Fiorentino (Bass Smashing Pumpkins), Lance Robertson (Yo Gabba Gabba) and more.
The documentary takes a “pull-no-punches” look at Courtney Love’s controversial rock band Hole — of which Patty Schemel was drummer during the band’s most popular years.
Told from Schemel’s point of view, the film zooms in on the personal lives of the group through home-video footage offstage with Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain, and the rest of the band.
Hit So Hard will premiere at the Ford Amphitheater in Los Angeles (2580 Cahuenga Blvd. East) with red carpet arrivals beginning at 7:30 pm. The screening will start at 8:30 pm with the concert to follow at 10:00 pm.
