The book will cover his experiences with being trans and an actor, among other things.

Elliot Page’s willingness to be open about his life and his journey with his identity has been an inspiration, and he isn’t finished yet.

It was announced this week that the actor is penning a memoir, Pageboy, set to be released by Flatiron Books in 2023.

“The memoir will delve into Page’s relationship with his body, his experiences as one of the most famous trans people in the world, and will cover mental health, assault, love, relationships, sex, and the cesspool that Hollywood can be,” the publisher said.

Page came out as trans in December 2020, sharing a heartfelt post with his pronouns and names and condemning ongoing violence against the trans community.

“I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive,” he wrote at the time. “To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

The actor has long used his platform to speak out against injustices and encourage equality and understanding. He previously hosted a documentary series,Gaycation, that explored LGBTQ communities around the world and famously had Page confront both Ted Cruz and Jai Bolsonaro, the antigay Brazilian politician who went on to become the country’s president.

Between his activism and the fact that he’s been a working Hollywood actor since he was a child will undoubtedly give him plenty to draw from for his upcoming memoir, and we can’t wait to see what he has to say!
