Certain Drag Race fans are being absolutely ridiculous.

Mistress Isabelle Brooks has had her Instagram account suspended multiple times over the course of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15. At this point, many queens and fans have spoken out against the people who are reporting Brooks’ Instagram page based on the completely harmless conflicts she has had with certain competitors throughout the season.

Following yet another incredibly silly and innocuous argument between Brooks and Marcia Marcia Marcia on the show, Brooks’ Instagram profile has yet again been inexplicably suspended based on reports from anonymous users. In response, Marcia has now shared an Instagram video urging her fans to stop doing this to Brooks.

“Hi everybody. I’m just popping on because Mistress [Isabelle Brooks’ Instagram] account has been suspended for the third time this week,” Marcia started. “Obviously I don’t have any kind of physical evidence that my fans are the ones doing this because you’re all bullies hiding behind anonymous reporting practices. But I can only assume that it is because we’ve had the most recent conflict.”

The season 15 star went on, “I would just like to say for the thousandth time that I do not support this. I do not appreciate it. It makes me feel really awful because I cannot do anything to help her. You are literally attacking a person you do not know for something that literally happened, like, a year ago. And this kind of abuse isn’t just affecting Mistress. Shocker of the century – it is disproportionally affecting the queens in our cast who are not thin white people. We all follow each other, we have a group chat, we talk almost every single day. Everything is fine. There are no active conflicts in the real world. So stop doing this because you are creating them.”

Marcia concluded, “It’s truly the most exhausting thing in the world. This is supposed to be a positive experience for all of us, and it is turning into the worst thing ever. Also, it would be great if Instagram could maybe vet the accounts before they are just suspended without any notice. Maybe that would be great. Also, if you’re a parent of a young kid who loves RuPaul’s Drag Race, maybe check what they’re posting on social media. Maybe just check in.”

In the past, there have been a few instances when Drag Race contestants could’ve asked their own fans to stop mistreating other queens. It seems like Marcia doesn’t want to be another one of those examples – which is a great thing! The jury is still out on whether or not this will help or work, but Marcia is doing her part.

Brooks is clearly being the target of a lot of hatred from a small but loud section of the Drag Race fanbase, which is incredibly unfair, inexplicable, and uncalled-for. Perhaps it’s time for the series to also take action and speak up on behalf of its contestants once again.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 airs Fridays on MTV.
