After 15 seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the US, a lot of drag families have been featured on the show. Some of them have been extremely successful in establishing their dynasties, while others might have flown a little bit more under the radar.
Since it’s Mother’s Day, this feels like the perfect time to celebrate these drag mothers (and their respective daughters) who have competed on Drag Race over the years!
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 airs Fridays on Paramount+.
Best known for competing on season five and All Stars 2, Alyssa Edwards is the drag mother to several Drag Race contestants. Namely, Shangela, Laganja Estranja, and Plastique Tiara are all Edwards’ drag daughters.
Coco Montrese (season five, All Stars 2) is the drag mother of Kahanna Montrese, who appeared in season 11 of Drag Race and has returned for All Stars 8.
Kerri Colby competed on Drag Race season 14, which was before her drag mother, Sasha Colby, entered the werk room of season 15 and was ultimately crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar.
Bob the Drag Queen
The winner of Drag Race season eight, Bob the Drag Queen, is Miz Cracker’s drag mother. Cracker appeared in season 10 of the series and came back for All Stars 5, where she finished as a runner-up.
A lot of fans may not know this, but season four runner-up and All Stars 1 winner Chad Michaels is the actual drag mother of Morgan McMichaels, who appeared in season two and All Stars 3.
Alexis Mateo is a Drag Race legend who competed in season three, All Stars 1, and All Stars 5. As if her major accomplishments weren’t enough, she also gave birth to a fierce drag daughter known as Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
Tamisha Iman and her drag daughter, LaLa Ri, had the crazy experience of competing during the very same year: season 13. The Iman dynasty is much wider than just LaLa Ri, but it was a joy to watch these two queens in the same werk room.
World of Wonder
Mo Heart reached superstardom after competing on Drag Race season 10, All Stars 4, and UK vs. the World. And it just so happens that Heart had two drag daughters competing in season 15: Robin Fierce and Luxx Noir London.
Mistress Isabelle Brooks
Even though Mistress Isabelle Brooks only met Sugar and Spice while competing on Drag Race season 15, the three of them announced on social media that Brooks adopted the twins as her drag daughters while the show was still airing.
A little known fact about season seven champion Violet Chachki is that she is the drag daughter of Dax ExclamationPoint, who appeared in season eight of Drag Race.
