Furnish spoke with Peoplemagazine Sunday at the Tony Awards, where he admitted that Elton was "a little surprised" to receive the invitation to perform at the wedding reception in Palm Beach on June 5. But the singer ultimately saw the performance, for which he received $1 million, as a way to extend "an olive branch" to the conservative talk radio host, said Furnish.

According to People, Elton told Furnish, who did not attend the wedding, that Limbaugh and Kathryn Rogers, his fourth wife, "were incredibly gracious and very welcoming and very sweet and very appreciative." They even want to have dinner with the two men some time when they pass through England.
