Two-time Tony Award winner, openly lesbian Cherry Jones, added an Emmy to her collection Sunday night taking home the prize for her supporting role playing the president on 24.

"Wowza," Jones said when she reached the podium.

Jones, who originated the role of the stalwart and suspicious nun in Doubt on Broadway, became the first woman to kiss a female partner on a nationally televised awards show-- Sarah Paulson -- when she won the Tony for that role in 2005.  She had previously won a Tony for the  1995 production of The Heiress.

The seasoned actress donned presidential pumps to play President Allison Taylor for last season's 24, marking the first time the show featured a female president.

Jones is having a busy month. On September 26, the Point Foundation, the largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students of merit, will award Jones with its Courage and Inspiration Award.
