The act, Christopher from Las Vegas, has purportedly been hitting the college b-ball circuit for ages, but it makes one wonder why the 5:30-second act of Christopher, and four life-sized Village People puppets bouncing around the court during halftime was chosen? I mean, what demographic does this inspire, entertain or reach?
Sure, if the event were a tribute to 1970’s disco camp then by all means, Christopher from Las Vegas is kinda / sorta a good choice. But really, this was a big freaking deal for women in sports. Were there no killer tumbling acts to entertain, no big-piped gal wanting to sing for what was potentially a record-breaking evening for the Lady Huskies? Numbers like "Macho Man" and "In the Navy" don't really speak to the momentous occasion.
Okay, that's enough pontificating on my part... Judge for yourselves if Christopher from Las Vegas encapsulated the mood of the evening.
