The University of Wisconsin-Madison LGBT Campus Center is fed up with the name-calling. Fed up with the violence. Fed up with the suicides. Fed up with the hate.
LGBTQ individuals of all ages are two to three times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual counterparts - due to the prejudice and hatred that surrounds them on a daily basis.
The students are taking a stand against this epidemic. It is more than a public health concern; this is a human rights issue.
Every person has the right to feel safe and accepted.
This video was filmed on historic Bascom Hill at UW-Madison to highlight the impact of bullying on LGBTQ individuals.
