Daniel Dae Kim is embracing his reputation as a zaddy — now that he knows what it means — and it’s not difficult to see why the internet hit him with such an affectionate label.

During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the actor admitted that his adult children had to clue him in as to what a zaddy is (an attractive and stylish older man, for anyone else who needs to know).

“The first time I saw that, I thought it must be a typo,” he said. “I don’t know why there’s a ‘z’ in front of there.”

The 55-year-old went on to suggest his kids are probably “happy that I don’t look like an old man,” and is zaddy enough to make it onto People’s Sexiest Men Alive list twice — originally in 2005 and again in 2021.

“It didn’t change my life in anyway. I still have to take out the garbage,” Kim joked. “But I like what it meant representationally.”

The internet is certainly grateful for his service, as he not only continues to light up our screens via his impressive career in film and television (Kim most recently appeared in Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series), but also gift us with Instagram pics that are a constant reminder of why the internet’s always calling him a zaddy in the first place.

So we might as well scroll through some of the best ones while we’re here, right? You’re welcome.
