Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef are calling it quits. The couple has officially announced that they are ending their six-year marriage.

They shared their news in a joint statement via Instagram with a message in both English and Spanish.

“For some time, we have considered transforming our relationship,” the statement begins, “and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years.”

Ricky Martin is the father of 14-year-old twin sons Matteo and Valentino and the couple share two children: Lucia, 4, and Renn, 3. In the statement, Martin and Yosef said that through the dissolution of their marriage, they remain the couple’s priority.

“Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic, and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children, preserving the respect and love we have for each other.”

“As always, we thank you for all the love and support we received throughout our marriage. We are united in nurturing this new chapter of our lives,” they concluded.

This announcement came as a shock to fans who have celebrated the couple’s love since they began dating in 2015. They were engaged a year later when Martin popped the question. The couple was married in 2018 during a private ceremony.

Our hearts go out to both Martin and Yosef in this painful time.
