Music fans around the world were shaken by the news of Madonna’s sudden hospitalization in June 2023. Sources revealed that Madonna had developed a “serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU.”

Additional reports indicated that the queen of pop music had to be revived while in the hospital, causing fans to be even more concerned about her well-being. Though her health was obviously the main priority to fans, there was also the concern that Madonna: The Celebration Tour was about to start on July 15, meaning that this was a very unfortunate timing for her to fall ill and be hospitalized.

On Monday, July 10, Madonna was finally able to address this situation, updating fans on her health and the new tour. “Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love,” she wrote in an Instagram statement. “I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life. My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

She continued, “My focus now is my health and getting stronger. And I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can! The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe. I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support.”

Various celebrities have left messages to Madonna in the comments section. Andy Cohen wrote, “We love you.” Michelle Visage commented, “What we care about is…. YOU! You take care of you and the rest will fall in line.” Kylie Sonique Love wrote, “Come on momma you got this.” Detox wrote, “We love you so much! Take all the time you need!” Shangela commented, “Sending great love to you, diva. Take care and rest up!”

For the time being, Madge has officially postponed the North American leg of The Celebration Tour, which was slated to kick off in Vancouver on July 15. However, the dates for the European leg have not been changed thus far. As it stands, The Celebration Tour will now begin on October 14 in London, with rescheduled North American dates to follow.

We’re sending Madonna all the love and good energies for her to recover!
